Jay Smith

Jay’s career in Commercial Real Estate brokerage and real estate development began in 1971, working for Ohio Equities. He returned to graduate school and worked as chief site planner for R.D. Zande and Associates, a civil engineering firm, while pursuing a Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning at Ohio State.

After graduating from Ohio State, Jay took a position with George Wimpey and Co. of London, England, a developer of subdivisions in Central Ohio for Ryan Homes, Virginia Homes and M/I Homes in Columbus. In 1979 he moved to Naples, Florida where, with Dollar Federal Savings of Columbus, began development of several projects.

Jay has 47 years of experience in brokerage, acquisition, environmental issues, planning and zoning and development as well as in the planning, marketing and construction of condominium and life-care communities. He has an extensive background in political dynamics, regional and city planning, site planning, annexation and zoning strategies, policies and procedures and marketing. He is also a Managing Partner in RosenSmith Partners, a real-estate investment Partnership.
